Can I really create a Gorgeous kitchen just by replacing the doors? Index

Why replace your whole kitchen when all it needs is a face lift?

If your kitchen is looking jaded or out-of-date, Gorgeous Kitchens provide a cost-effective way to re-style it with minimal disruption and no compromise on quality.

For most of us, the dream kitchen is large and spacious, in a style that is, if not unique, extremely individual and that looks expensive and impressive. On top of this it should also have oodles of personality. In fact it is the sort of kitchen that is shown in specialist kitchen magazines.

Unfortunately, this is just not achievable in the vast majority of homes. Very few kitchens these days are large enough, so whatever is spent on them, the result is often a compromise.

Within the confined area of your kitchen the layout is probably already the most practical achievable so you'll inevitably be restricted to the space you have and the current layout. But what you lose in design and layout you can make up for in colour and surface materials used.

How easy is it to replace kitchen doors? How long will it take? Index

Because there's no specialist tools required, if you can mount shelves on a wall or put up curtain rails you should be OK. But if you are the type of person who would normally have someone in to do these jobs you are probably better to ask a fitter to do it for you.

The time it takes to replace your doors depends on how large your kitchen is and whether any unforeseen problems are encountered. Professional fitters would probably complete an average kitchen in less than a day. If you do it yourself you might take a little longer, but remember you can replace the doors and drawers just one at a time - minimal disruption to family life!

Glossary: Cornice, Pelmet, Kick plinth, Laminate, Edgebanding Index

Cornice is the decorative strip that can be fixed to the top of your wall hung cabinets.
Pelmet is the decorative strip that can be fixed to the bottom of your wall hung cabinets.
Kick plinth is the board that is fixed between the floor and the kitchen cabinets.
Laminate are wide sheets of self-adhesive PVC that can be used to cover exposed end panels and smaller "filler" panels in your kitchen.
Edgebanding is narrow strips of self-adhesive PVC that can be used to cover exposed edges of carcasses (we offer widths of 18mm and 15mm).

All of these products are colour matched exactly to our door ranges. Edgebanding is not available in high-gloss colours, so a very close, non-gloss match is provided.

Can you really supply doors to fit absolutely any kitchen? Index

Yes. Every door is, actually made-to-measure and made-to-order just for your kitchen. There is no extra cost for ordering what some suppliers deem to be "special" sizes.

All of our replacement kitchen door ranges are available in heights from 140mm to 1699mm and widths from 255mm to 999mm.

Are there any hidden extra costs? Index

No, absolutely not! The prices shown on your quote are the prices you pay. The carriage price shown includes all packaging, handling and where appropriate, insurance.

How are your prices so low? Index

We are an internet based company selling directly to you, our customer. There are no intermediaries to take their cut and no showroom rents to be paid. The quality and prices of our products sell themselves and require minimal input from ourselves. Normally you, our Customer can read a tape measure and are quite capable of deciding what you need without a high pressure salesman. We are always here to assist you by email or telephone. There is no compromise on quality and indeed we purchase from the same leading manufacturers that supply many the UK's bigger replacement door organisations.

How secure is ordering? Index

We take the security of your payment details extremely seriously - its our number 1 priority.

We use the HSBC Secure ePayments system who will take details of your payment card via a 128-bit secured website. Gorgeous Kitchens never see any of your payment details, either during or after you have made your payment.

How do I clean my Gorgeous doors? Index

All of the doors we offer have a special finish so that they only need warm water, possibly with a little soap, to clean them.
Abrasive kitchen cleaners and wax or silicone polishes must not be used.

Drilling your Gorgeous kitchen doors Index

If you want to drill the doors yourself, you'll require a drill, power drill stand and a 35mm drill bit - all available from DIY stores.
One at a time, take the old doors off the hinges, leaving the hinge screwed to the cabinet. Drill hinge holes into the replacement door in the same position as on the old door. Hang the new door in your kitchen.

Always double-check your measurements and that you have the door the correct way round (vitally important for the Tuscany, Arundel, Manor House, Farmhouse and Malton ranges) before drilling.

Durability of you Gorgeous kitchen doors Index

The kitchen can be a dangerous place for doors and drawers, and they can be subjected to any number of hostile conditions.
They can be exposed to steam, excessive water, hot fat, staining products such as mustard and turmeric, scratches, impact etc.

All finishes are made as "colour fast" as possible, although practically nothing will withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight.

All of our doors are made for the kitchen environment. The beauty of their construction is that MDF doesn't ever warp or bow and the vinyl wrap doesn't stain or discolour and can be cleaned with warm water and possibly a little soap.
